The Advanced Oil 3-day Workshop is an in depth class on how to create a narrative still life. We will go over composition and how to design a still life that tells a personal story. The importance of doing studies will be discussed either in the form of drawings or paintings. Nicole will demonstrate how she layers color over her Brunaille to produce depth and realism. She will show how to give transparency to the shadows and use opacity in the areas with more light to help create atmosphere and depth. This class will break down the steps that Nicole uses to create an elaborate still life that captures the essence and energy of the objects. Basic drawing skills and some experience with oil painting would be helpful for this course.
