CANCELED - Annual 4th of July Celebration
The Indian Head Town Council regretfully announces the cancellation of the Annual July 4 Fireworks Celebration 2020 due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Many factors were considered in reaching this difficult decision, including the Governor’s and County Commissioners evolving Covid-19 directives and the many restrictions already in place.
While some restrictions have recently been lifted and businesses are beginning to slowly re-open, most are requiring strict safety measures, including social distancing, limited numbers of gathering people, wearing of masks and even temperature checks. The evidence still shows this disease spreads easily when people are in densely populated areas has led many agencies to continue following the recommendation of avoiding mass gatherings.
The safety and well-being of all our residents & guests, volunteers, support organizations, vendors, fireworks company and Town staff remains our top priority and we feel strongly that it cannot be compromised under any circumstances. Cancelling is the responsible choice for the Town Council in order to support community health and safety and help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
